"First drafts are never perfect. First drafts are all about getting the soul of the story on paper."
I said this to my best friend today while discussing books and realized... hey that’s a pretty cool quote! Lol (I even looked it up to make sure I wasn’t stealing it). All writers (myself included) want that first draft to be perfect. I think part of it is because the editing process sucks. But we have to realize that the perfect final draft comes after multiple hours of edits and rewrites. And more edits. And beta readers. And possibly more edits followed by sending it off to a professional editor. Completing your first (imperfect) draft will be an amazing accomplishment. But it’s just the beginning. Your vision WILL come about!
